Biden Lands in L.A. for Star-Studded Fundraiser Following Trump’s Major CA Fundraising Successes
President Joe Biden attended a fundraiser in Los Angeles, accompanied by prominent figures including former President Barack Obama, actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and others. The event aimed to gather support before the 2024 election and expected to raise about $28 million, making it potentially the largest one-night fundraiser for a Democratic candidate. Tickets ranged from $250 to $500,000, the latter including premium seating, a photo opportunity with Biden and Obama, and an invite to an after-party. Additionally, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel was set to interview Biden and Obama at the event. This fundraiser follows three similar events by Donald Trump in California, where he raised $27.5 million.
President Joe Biden flew into Los Angeles for a fundraiser with A-list celebrities on Saturday as the Democratic candidate tries to whip up support less than five months before the 2024 election.
The Biden campaign event will include appearances by former President Barack Obama, George Clooney, and Julia Roberts, among other celebrities, the Los Angeles Times reported. Team Biden said it expects to haul in around $28 million from the star-studded event, which would be the largest one-night fundraiser in history for a Democratic candidate.
Attendees of Biden’s Saturday night celebrity fundraiser can pay $250 for the cheapest ticket and up to $500,000 for four seats in the first three rows, according to the L.A. Times. The most expensive ticket also includes a photo reception with Biden and Obama and an invite to an after-party.
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel will sit down with Biden and Obama for an interview on Saturday night, where they will discuss the upcoming election. Other celebrities expected to attend the Biden fundraiser include Jason Bateman, Jack Black, Kathryn Hahn, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
Biden’s L.A. event comes after his opponent Donald Trump held three fundraisers in California, which the Trump campaign estimates brought in $27.5 million, according to Fox News. Last week, Trump reportedly raised $12 million from a fundraiser in deep-blue San Francisco.
Trump posted massive fundraising numbers immediately following his conviction in the New York hush-money case, where the presumptive GOP presidential nominee was found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Earlier this month, Eric Trump told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that his father has raised over $200 million since the guilty verdict.
As Biden rubs shoulders with some of Hollywood’s most well-known names, Trump is set to travel to Detroit to take part in a roundtable at a local church and speak at Turning Point USA’s People’s Convention, Fox 2 reported. The Trump campaign blasted Biden’s L.A. fundraiser with “out-of-touch celebrity benefactors.”

“President Trump will be campaigning and meeting everyday Americans in Detroit, Mich., an area decimated by Joe Biden’s failed policies,” said Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung. “Meanwhile … Biden will be at a glitzy fundraiser in Hollywood with his elitist, out-of-touch celebrity benefactors that own him.”
