Biden Campaign Joins Trump’s Truth Social, But It Backfires: ‘We Misjudged the Humor’
Joe Biden’s Campaign Joins Trump’s Truth Social – It Immediately Backfires: ‘We Thought It Would Be Very Funny’
Leaders of Joe Biden’s re-election campaign took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce their unexpected move to join former President Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social. In a playful post, they stated, “We just joined Truth Social, mostly because we thought it would be very funny. Follow us there for truths and retruths or whatever they call them,” providing a link to their Truth page.

The campaign’s first post on Truth Social, which read, “Well. Let’s see how this goes. Converts welcome!” received over 7,000 replies, 1,000 ReTruths, and approximately 2,500 likes within a day.
The background photo on Biden’s profile playfully taunted users with the words, “Malarkey ends here.”
However, it’s important to note that the majority of Truth Social’s user base consists of conservatives and Republicans who support Trump. The CEO of Truth Social is former Republican Congressman Devin Nunes of California.
One Truth Social user sarcastically thanked Biden for joining the platform before launching into a scathing critique. Another user expressed hope that Biden would finally learn the truth about the world, as they believed he had been consistently spreading false information.
Truth Social was launched by Trump in February 2022 as an alternative to social media sites that had censored him following the events of January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Within 24 hours of joining Truth Social, the Biden campaign, using the handle @BidenHQ, posted over 20 times, either disputing Trump’s claims or fueling divisions among Republicans through a series of video clips.
One of Biden’s posts quoted Governor Ron DeSantis, who criticized Trump’s failure to “drain the swamp.” So far, Trump has not responded directly to Biden’s negativity on the platform, but his supporters have come to his defense.
Do you use Truth Social?
“Joe, thank you for coming to Truth Social. Now, all your leftist nut bag followers can be blocked with just one press,” one user wrote, expressing their gratitude before launching into a barrage of criticism. Another user suggested that Biden might finally learn the truth about the world by joining Truth Social, as they believed he had been consistently spreading false information.
