Biden campaign plans over 20 fundraisers this month as campaign begins: Report.
President Biden’s Re-Election Campaign to Host Over 20 Fundraisers
President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign is gearing up with more than 20 fundraisers scheduled before the end of June. These events will not only take place in San Francisco, California, but also in New York, Maryland, and Illinois.
The fundraisers will feature appearances by President Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, according to the Associated Press. This information was provided by a source involved in Biden’s travel plans who wished to remain anonymous.
Just days ago, President Biden held his first campaign rally in Philadelphia, where he received the endorsement of the AFL-CIO. He also attended a fundraiser in Greenwich, Connecticut. The momentum is building, and the campaign is gaining traction.
Robert Gibbs, former Press Secretary for former President Obama, commented on the increased activity, stating, “It gets the president out there even more actively making a political as well as a policy case on a day-to-day basis. It takes a while to build a campaign, raise the necessary funds, and get everyone ready for the fight ahead.”
While this increased activity may calm the nerves of some Democrats, others in the party remain concerned that Biden is not moving quickly enough to take on former President Donald Trump or a younger, more formidable Republican opponent.
In addition to the campaign’s efforts, Emily’s List, a pro-abortion group, has pledged to spend tens of millions of dollars to improve Vice President Kamala Harris’s image. This move highlights the recognition that Harris may play a significant role in the upcoming election.
During the 2020 election cycle, Biden raised an unprecedented $1 billion, making it the most expensive election ever. The total cost of the 2020 election, including presidential and congressional races, was estimated to be around $14 billion, far surpassing the $7 billion spent in the 2016 cycle.
