President Joe Biden was in Georgia over the weekend thanking supporters for voting for him in 2020 because the state was “the reason I’m president right now.”
The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation held a fundraiser for Biden on Saturday ahead of his speech at the Morehouse College commencement Sunday. Biden made several stops around the state before and after the fundraiser.
“If you ever doubt the power of the vote, I say come to Georgia. You are the reason I won. Georgia is the reason I’m president right now,” Biden said, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Biden was the first Democratic presidential candidate to win Georgia since 1992. He won 306 total electoral votes, 16 of which came from the state.

“You all brung me to the dance,” Biden said later. “You really made a gigantic difference. “It’s easy to forget, but I don’t forget.”
Biden delivered his speech at Morehouse, a historically black college, without any campaign message. Instead, he touted his administration’s policies — specifically on race and funding for HBCUs.
