The Biden Administration Sues SpaceX Over Alleged Discrimination Against Immigrants
The Department of Justice (DOJ) under the Biden administration has filed a lawsuit against billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX, accusing the company of engaging in discriminatory practices against immigrants. The DOJ claims that SpaceX has systematically excluded individuals seeking asylum and refugees throughout the hiring process, in violation of immigration regulations.
The lawsuit alleges that from September 2018 to May 2022, SpaceX discriminated against asylees and refugees at every stage of the hiring process, including recruiting, screening, and selection. The DOJ argues that due to their citizenship status, these individuals had virtually no chance of being fairly considered or hired by SpaceX.
Contrary to SpaceX’s claim that they could not hire asylees and refugees because of the requirement for employees to have at least a green card, the lawsuit states that the company discouraged these individuals from applying by falsely stating that only U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents could be hired.

However, the lawsuit disputes this statement, asserting that SpaceX misled asylees and refugees through online postings and statements by its CEO and other officials, wrongly stating that the company could only hire U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time one of Musk’s companies has faced legal action from the Biden DOJ. Earlier this year, the Department of Justice targeted the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), holding the company in contempt and imposing a fine for failing to produce former President Donald Trump’s account information within the court’s deadline.
SpaceX has not yet responded to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The DOJ’s lawsuit against SpaceX has sparked criticism on social media, with many questioning the government’s actions and accusing it of targeting American companies that prioritize hiring American citizens.
