Biden DOJ Recommends No Jail Time for Trans Vandal of Catholic Church
The Department of Justice under President Biden offered a plea agreement to a vandal who vandalized the St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue, Washington, with obscene graffiti, demolished a statue of the Virgin Mary, attacked a member of the church, and resisted arrest. Critics are now calling it a “sweetheart” plea deal.
The agreement recommends no prison sentence for Maeve Nota, a transgender person who is responsible for the crime. Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade last June, they vandalized the church. In comparison, the Biden administration has previously taken a hardline approach with pro-life protesters outside abortion clinics.
“It is evident that the Biden Justice Department has used the FACE Act to pursue pro-life Christians praying outside of abortion clinics such as Mark Houck, while simultaneously ignoring violent offenders who are terrorizing and severely damaging Catholic churches like Maeve Nota,” said Mike Davis, the founder of the Article III Project, to Fox News Digital.

“Houck defended his son and was threatened with an 11-year sentence. In contrast, Nota is a deranged trans terrorist who caused extensive damage to a Catholic Church. They fought with law enforcement officers and assaulted a church employee. They frightened an elderly woman who was praying. Yet, despite all of this, the Biden Justice Department recommends no jail time for Nota,” Davis said.
Nota used rocks to break two glass doors and spray-painted the church’s exterior walls with slogans such as “F— Catholics,” “rot in your fake hell,” “kid groomers,” and “woman haters,” among others.
A church worker was sprayed in the face while attempting to deter Nota.
When officers found Nota, they smashed up the police car with a backpack full of spray paint cans before giving themselves up, according to police.
Nota appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during the arrest and was reportedly enraged by the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade the preceding week, according to investigators who talked to KOMO News.

A hate crime statute was used to charge Nota with $10,000 in damages, according to Police Capt. Darryl McKinney, who spoke to FOX13 Seattle shortly after the incident.
In early March, Biden’s Justice Department launched an investigation into Nota’s destruction of religious property, a misdemeanor that carries a sentence of one year in prison and $100,000 in fines. However, a plea agreement revealed later shows that the Justice Department, Nota, and their attorney will recommend no jail time and a probationary period of three years at the sentencing on June 2.

This is sharply different from the stance adopted by the Biden administration with regards to pro-life activist Mark Houck. When he was involved in an altercation with a Planned Parenthood escort, the Federal Bureau of Investigation searched his home, and the administration wanted him to be sentenced to 11 years in prison. The Biden administration claimed that Houck had broken the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which makes it unlawful to use force with the intent of harming, frightening or interfering with clinic employees.
