Biden has potential to gain voter support on two crucial issues: Poll
A New Poll Reveals Key Issues for President Biden’s Messaging to Voters
A recent poll has identified two crucial areas that President Joe Biden can focus on to improve his messaging to voters: prices and energy. The Blueprint poll, released on Thursday, offers valuable insights on how Biden can send a clearer and more effective message to voters as the 2024 presidential election approaches.
“Biden must make his 2024 campaign a war on high prices — an area where he has the upper hand,” says Blueprint’s head pollster Evan Roth Smith. “Rather than waiting for media referees to award Biden points, the campaign must put them up on the scoreboard itself where voters can see.”
The poll reveals that 44% of voters believe prices are slowly decreasing under Biden’s watch, while 36% think prices are rising. Additionally, voters were asked to evaluate the impact of 14 Biden policies on their lives. Biden received favorable marks in nine categories, with his most popular policies being investing in agricultural supply chains (78% support), banning hidden ”junk fees” charged by companies (73% support), enforcing price gouging laws through antitrust measures (71% support), and expanding Social Security benefits (68% support).
On the other hand, Biden’s least popular policies in the poll were tax rebates for electric vehicles (73% opposed), canceling student loan debt (71% opposed), requiring labor union agreements for major construction projects (67% opposed), and capping the price of insulin for seniors (67% opposed).
Despite poor ratings for the president on the economy, Smith explains that there is a “glimmer of hope” for Biden. The poll indicates that many economic indicators are pointing in the right direction, but lingering inflation is holding back Biden’s economic polling numbers.
Smith suggests that Biden should focus on his energy policy, which aligns closely with what voters want. He also emphasizes the importance of addressing the issue of prices, particularly for young and independent voters. Smith highlights that many voters mistakenly believe that Biden has decreased oil and gas drilling in the United States, when in fact the opposite is true. By shifting his focus towards energy and reducing prices, Biden could see a positive impact on polling, especially in swing states critical to the 2024 election.
The Blueprint poll surveyed 1,012 voters from December 2 to December 5, 2023. Blueprint Strategies, a left-leaning polling company, conducted the survey. Smith concludes that these findings provide fertile ground for Biden’s messaging and urges the president to seize every opportunity to take credit for his accomplishments.

Why is energy a significant concern for voters, and how can Biden balance his focus on climate change with addressing the cost of implementing renewable energy sources
Different factors on their cost of living, and the results indicate that the two most significant concerns for voters are gas prices and grocery prices.
Regarding gas prices, 62% of voters said they have noticed an increase since Biden took office, while only 13% said they have seen a decrease. This is a crucial issue to address, as it directly affects household budgets and impacts the overall economy.
Similarly, when it comes to grocery prices, 64% of voters said they have experienced an increase since Biden became president, compared to only 8% who reported a decrease. This is particularly concerning for middle-class families who rely heavily on affordable groceries to make ends meet.
The poll also highlights the importance of energy as a key issue for voters. When asked about their level of concern for energy prices, 57% of voters expressed significant worry. This suggests that Biden’s focus on climate change and renewable energy sources might need to be balanced with the cost of implementing these changes. An effective messaging strategy could involve emphasizing a comprehensive approach that prioritizes affordability while also addressing environmental concerns.
Smith suggests that Biden’s messaging strategy needs to focus on actual results that have a direct impact on voters’ lives. Instead of relying on media narratives, the campaign should highlight tangible achievements. By aggressively addressing high prices and energy concerns, Biden can present himself as a problem-solver who is actively working to improve the lives of everyday Americans.
In order to improve his messaging, President Biden should consider using data and statistics to back up his claims of reducing prices and mitigating energy costs. Providing concrete evidence of his administration’s efforts and accomplishments will help instill confidence in voters and dispel any skepticism.
Moreover, it is essential for Biden’s messaging to be clear, concise, and consistent. By articulating his goals and plans in a straightforward manner, he can connect with voters on a deeper level and effectively address their concerns. This includes highlighting specific policies and initiatives aimed at reducing prices and ensuring affordable energy options.
Addressing the concerns raised by the Blueprint poll can significantly improve President Biden’s messaging to voters. By demonstrating a commitment to tackling issues related to prices and energy, he can build trust and credibility among the electorate. As the 2024 presidential election approaches, it is imperative for Biden to refine his messaging and connect with voters effectively, ensuring that their priorities are heard and addressed.
