Biden probe: Burisma bribery allegations hidden from IRS inquiry

Whistleblowers Expose Alleged Bribery Claims Involving Joe Biden and Hunter Biden

Startling revelations have emerged from whistleblowers, shedding light on alleged bribery claims involving Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky and former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. Shockingly, these claims were never relayed to IRS and FBI investigators working on Hunter Biden’s case in Delaware.

A paid confidential FBI informant came forward in June 2020, revealing that a foreign national had allegedly funneled $5 million to Joe Biden and $5 million to Hunter Biden as part of a criminal bribery scheme.

Blind Spot in U.S. Investigation Raises Concerns

Former Attorney General William Barr recently confirmed that these allegations were forwarded to U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who led the investigation into Hunter Biden. However, IRS whistleblowers have now come forward, stating that they were never made aware of the bribery claims and therefore never had the opportunity to investigate them.

The whistleblowers, IRS Criminal Investigation agents Gary Shapley and an unnamed case agent referred to as “Whistleblower X,” initially spoke with Congress in May. In follow-up statements sent to congressional investigators in June, they revealed that the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office had failed to inform them about the alleged bribery claims.

“Prosecutors never provided such information to IRS-CI. As such, neither IRS-CI nor the FBI agents working with them were provided the opportunity to conduct a proper investigation into the allegations presented by this CHS,” Shapley told Congress.

Shapley further expressed his concerns, stating, “This appears to be another example of prosecutors obstructing the investigative process,” and suggesting that there may be more concealed information that has not yet been revealed.

Whistleblower X’s attorney also confirmed that his client, who was the IRS-CI Case Agent overseeing the investigation, had never seen the FBI Form 1023 containing the allegations and was not aware of the information being turned over to the prosecution team in Delaware.

Unraveling the Alleged Bribery Scheme

According to sources familiar with the FBI record, Mykola Zlochevsky, the Ukrainian owner of Burisma, was the “foreign national” involved in the alleged criminal bribery scheme. Zlochevsky claimed that it would be challenging to uncover the truth behind the scheme due to the complexity of the numerous bank accounts involved.

Amidst the controversy, FBI Director Christopher Wray allowed members of the GOP-led House Oversight Committee to review a redacted version of the FD-1023 form containing the allegations from the paid FBI informant. This move came after Rep. Jamie Raskin accused Barr and his appointed prosecutor of ending the investigation into the bribery claims, a statement that Barr vehemently denied.

“It’s not true. It wasn’t closed down. On the contrary, it was sent to Delaware for further investigation,” Barr clarified.

Raskin stood by his claims, asserting that the investigation had been closed down by the Department of Justice team. However, Barr countered by explaining the process involved in Pittsburgh, where an intake process was established to screen information before sending it to ongoing investigations.

“It did not, in my recollection, come from Giuliani,” Barr stated.

Obstruction of the Investigative Process

Shapley expressed his frustration with the lack of cooperation from the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office, stating that requests to participate in briefings were denied. He emphasized that if IRS-CI investigators had been included in those briefings, they could have ensured proper investigative steps were taken to determine the validity of the information provided by the confidential human source.

Due to the concealment of the CHS information by prosecutors, both IRS-CI and FBI agents assigned to the Hunter Biden investigation were unable to follow alleged criminal activity as they normally would in an investigation. The IRS whistleblower further revealed that no known investigative steps were taken to substantiate the allegations.

The lawyer for Whistleblower X highlighted the relevance of the concealed information to the investigation, as it directly tied to email correspondence between Hunter Biden and a business partner, referencing the alleged $5 million payment.

New Links and Controversial Statements

Senator Chuck Grassley also made a significant revelation, stating that a less redacted version of the form he reviewed indicated that Zlochevsky claimed to have 17 recordings of conversations with Joe Biden and Hunter Biden as an “insurance policy.”

It is important to note that Zlochevsky’s alleged reference to Joe Biden as the “big guy” is separate from the reference made by a Hunter Biden business associate during negotiations with Chinese intelligence-linked businessmen. The China-related reference emerged from an email in May 2017.

Shapley further disclosed that Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf instructed investigators not to ask witnesses about “dad” (Joe Biden) or “the big guy.”

Joe Biden himself dismissed the bribery allegations as “a bunch of malarkey,” jokingly asking, “Where’s the money?”

Meanwhile, Hunter Biden reached a plea deal on federal charges related to tax crimes and the illegal purchase of a handgun.

The IRS whistleblowers’ claims, which expose the politicization and slow-walking of the Justice Department investigation, have raised serious concerns. They also suggest new connections between Joe Biden and his son’s China deals, while confirming the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop.
