Biden to Dampen NFL Season Opener: Report
President Biden’s Campaign Ad to Air During NFL Season Opener
Get ready for some unexpected political content during Thursday’s NFL season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions. According to Axios, many NFL fans will be forced to watch a re-election campaign ad featuring President Joe Biden and his supposed accomplishments on the economy.
The 30-second spot, which can be found on YouTube, portrays “Bidenomics” as a positive force that has improved the lives of the American people. It aims to dispel the notion that Biden is a doddering, sleepy failure and instead presents him as a sharp advocate for those affected by his economic policies.
The ad claims that Biden has fixed supply chains and is actively fighting corporate greed. It even goes as far as to assert that he has made America more energy independent. With statements like “inflation is down to 3 percent” and boasting about the lowest unemployment rate in decades, the ad paints a rosy picture of Biden’s presidency.
According to the report, the ad will air during Thursday night’s game in select 2024 battleground states such as Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin. It’s a strategic move by the campaign to reach general election voters who may not be targeted by Republican primary campaigns.
While football and other sports are often seen as an escape from politics, this ad might not sit well with many Americans. It’s hard to believe that people who have experienced skyrocketing gas prices and increased costs of living will buy into the idea that all is well under Biden’s leadership.
The most laughable part of the ad is the claim that inflation is ”down to three percent.” In reality, prices are still rising, just at a slower rate compared to last year. This is not a win for the White House, which has been accused of pushing people into poverty and hindering young Americans’ ability to own homes.
The ad’s dishonesty is truly astounding. It’s unlikely that anyone truly believes Biden has made the country energy-independent or that job gains can be solely attributed to his policies. The reality is that many job gains are a result of post-COVID recovery or individuals taking on multiple jobs to make ends meet.
If Bidenomics were truly successful, the results would speak for themselves. However, the president’s policies are not working, unless their intention is to oppress the middle class. The campaign is hoping that sports fans might be gullible enough to believe that paying more for less has somehow improved their lives.
In conclusion, this ad is nothing more than ”malarkey,” to borrow a term frequently used by critics of the president. It remains to be seen how viewers will react to this unexpected political interruption during the NFL season opener.
