President Joe Biden’s recent visit to the fire-ravaged Hawaiian island of Maui left residents feeling indifferent to their plight. After a week of silence and dodging questions about the devastating wildfires, Biden finally made the effort to fly out to the island and survey the destruction for himself.
However, instead of offering sympathy and inspiration to the residents and officials of Maui, Biden used the occasion to tell stories about himself and crack jokes. During his speech, he even brought up the tragic death of his first wife and daughter in a car crash, which had no relevance to the situation in Hawaii.

This behavior is absolutely shameful for a president. It not only adds to the never-ending series of Biden gaffes but also demonstrates his complete disregard for the concerns of the American people.
Maui residents have expressed their lack of faith in Biden’s sincerity, with many stating that they do not want him visiting because it seems like a mere photo opportunity. This callousness is not limited to Hawaii; even the families of the Gold Star servicemembers killed in Afghanistan in 2021 have experienced the president’s cold treatment in the face of their tragic losses.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Biden has little to no concern for the well-being of ordinary Americans. Even people in a liberal state like Hawaii are starting to notice this lack of empathy.
