Biden Mocked After Showing Off SOTU Address Notes

Joe Biden’s handlers took to social media on Monday to show off the president’s notes for his coming State of the Union. Perhaps they shouldn’t have.

In a self-ascribed post (that no one believes the president wrote himself), Biden says he’s “getting ready” The picture shows the first page of his speech. The president is like us in that he loves chocolate chip cookies. He enjoys cookies and other stuff.

I digress. The part that got people talking about the contents of the page.

You can click the tweet and browse the replies, but yes, that’s a single sentence that adds up to about five seconds of speaking taking up an entire page. We see that Biden even needs to have his pauses drafted at the end. Hopefully, His history, he doesn’t read what’s in the brackets on Tuesday night.

I’m sure the answer will be “Yes, this is normal.” For the presidents to give State of the Union addresses, they have large font notes with all mannerisms and their mannerisms printed out. But is that true?

Out of curiosity, I went and looked up what the notes from George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump’s speeches looked like (see the pictures Here, Here?, and Here respectively). Each one has more words per pages than others, and they all include pauses that are not scripted. In other words, they had normal notes you’d expect a normal human being to have. Compare that to Biden’s picture, and it’s night and day.

Of course, Biden’s Overly scripted These speeches are nothing new. He’s famously used a massive television as a teleprompter over his tenure that includes every blink and breath scripted out for him.

Is this a massive deal compared to some of the other stuff regarding Biden’s presidency? It is not, but it continues to project US weakness onto other countries. When the President of the United States needs his pauses scripted and can’t fit an entire sentence on each page of his notes, that shows a man who isn’t in charge but is a puppet in his own administration. Presidents who think quickly and can react quickly are respected by our adversaries. That’s not Joe Biden, and the current state of the world is a testament to that.
