Biden On ‘Significant Opportunities’ In Current Events: ‘There’s Gonna Be A New World Order Out There’

Democrat President Joe Biden said during Business Roundtable’s CEO Quarterly Meeting on Monday that “significant opportunities” in current world events were going to lead to a “new world order.”

The remarks came toward the end of his brief speech where he talked about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and America’s economic future amid his administration’s push to implement a leftist climate agenda.

“I think this presents us with some significant opportunities to make some real changes. You know, we are at an inflection point, I believe, in the world economy, not just the world economy, in the world, occurs every three or four generations. As one of my, as the one of the top military people said to me in a secure meeting the other day, 60 million people died between 1900 and 1946 and since then we established a liberal world order and that hadn’t happened in a long while. A lot of people died, but nowhere near the chaos. And now’s the time when things are shifting. We’re going, there’s gonna be a new world order out there and we’ve got to lead it and we’ve got to unite the rest of the free world and doing it.”

Biden’s remarks come as war broke out in Europe a month ago when Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his forces to invade Ukraine.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky pinned blame for Russia’s invasion into Ukraine on Democrat President Joe Biden’s refusal to enact sanctions against Russia before Russia launched the invasion.

Zelensky told Senators that if the U.S. “had started sanctions months ago, there would not have been war.”

Reuters noted just a few days before Russia invaded Ukraine that Biden was “refus[ing] to unleash sanctions on Russia” until Russia invaded, despite numerous officials, including Zelensky, saying that the sanctions could stop the invasion from happening.

“You tell me 100% that there will be war in a few days’ time. What are you waiting for?” Zelensky said before the invasion. “We will not need your sanctions after there is a bombardment, or after our state is shot at, or if we have no more borders, we do not have an economy, or parts of our state is occupied.”

Zelensky also appeared to take a separate shot at Biden in late February, saying that “the world’s most powerful forces are watching from afar” as Ukraine was forced to defend itself.
