Joe Biden said another terrorist attack on the Kabul airport was “highly likely in the next 24 to 36 hours” and pledged to take further actions against ISIS-K. In a statement released on Saturday, Biden announced he ordered U.S. military commanders to prioritize force protection.

Biden ensured the U.S. military was equipped with all the resources needed to protect our service members. He added Friday’s air strike, which killed two ISIS-K members, was not the last and claimed the U.S. continue to hunt down those responsible for Thursday’s attack on the Kabul airport.

“I said we would go after the group responsible for the attack on our troops and innocent civilians in Kabul, and we have,” he stated. “This strike was not the last. We will continue to hunt down any person involved in that heinous attack and make them pay.”

Biden went on to praise the 13 fallen service members who lost their lives in the attack and called them “heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our American ideals.”
