Biden extends Iranian New Year wishes, possibly the sole leader aside from Khamenei to acknowledge Palestinians, who do not observe the holiday
President Biden’s Nowruz Message and Recognition of Palestinians
This week, in celebration of Nowruz, President Biden sent warm greetings to over 300 million people worldwide marking the onset of spring and the new year. Chiming in on the festive spirit, he made a meaningful mention of the Palestinians, a gesture rarely seen among world leaders during this momentous occasion.
I cannot get over the fact that President Biden’s statement marking the Persian New Year (Nowruz) randomly mentions the war in Gaza.
Nowruz is not an Arab holiday or a Muslim holiday.
And no mention of Afghanistan where the Taliban has canceled Nowruz as a holiday.

Standing for Freedom and Accountability
President Biden expressed solidarity with the brave women of Iran in their fight for freedom and pledged accountability for Iranian officials who violate human rights. However, amidst these statements, questions arose about financial aid given to Iran by the United States.
Biden’s administration recently allowed funds to flow from Iraq to Iran, despite concerns over the ultimate use of these funds. Critics fear the money, intended for humanitarian purposes, may inadvertently support Iran’s contentious nuclear ventures.
Idaho GOP Senator Jim Risch emphasized the need to prevent terror groups from accessing Iran’s resources, urging stringent control over financial transactions involving Iran.
The waiver renewals enabling fund transfers to Iran have stirred controversy, especially following hostile actions linked to the Iranian regime, including the recent attack that claimed the lives of American military personnel.
💯 🤯
Arash Aalaei / @IranIntl_En notes that the only other world leader other than Biden that ever mentioned Palestinians in their Nowruz greetings to Iranians was Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

The ongoing aid allocations to Iran stand in contrast to President Biden’s rhetoric on human rights and accountability, prompting calls for stricter oversight and caution in handling transactions with nations facing international scrutiny.
