President Joe Biden Faces Backlash for False Claims About Teaching Political Theory
The 46th president appeared at a press conference on Thursday at Prince George Community College in Maryland regarding his remarks on the economy.
During his speech, President Biden made a claim about teaching at the University of Pennsylvania for four years, which has been proven false.
”I taught at the University of Pennsylvania for four years and I used to teach political theory. And folks, you always hear, every generation has to fight for Democracy,” he stated.
However, upon investigation, it was discovered that there is no record of President Biden teaching classes during his time at the University from 2017 to 2019. This revelation has sparked outrage on social media.
Users on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) criticized the president for his false claims. Author Carol Roth shared a clip of the claims and sarcastically commented, “Biden’s pretend life sounds very fun and interesting.”
Podcast Host Derek Hunter called out fact-checkers from CNN and The Washington Post, questioning their ability to fact-check the president’s claims.
This incident adds to a list of false claims made by President Biden, including his statements about being at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks and witnessing a Pittsburgh bridge collapse. Reporter Jeff Mordock questioned the president’s credibility, asking if he is “just believing things that didn’t happen.”
“The president has lied about being at Ground Zero the day after the Sept. 11 attacks, falsely claimed he saw the Pittsburgh bridge collapse, claimed his grandfather died in the hospital days before his birth. What is going on with the president? Is he just believing things that didn’t happen did happen, or is he just randomly making stuff up?” he said.
When asked about these false claims, the White House National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby avoided addressing the questions.
