President Joe Biden Fires Back at Reporter Over Bribery Allegations

During a press conference on Thursday, President Joe Biden found himself facing questions about an alleged bribery scheme that he and his son, Hunter, are accused of being involved in while Biden was vice president in the Obama administration.

The allegations stem from an FBI confidential human source who claimed that the Bidens received up to $5 million each in bribe money from an executive at the Ukrainian gas company Burisma.

When New York Post reporter Steven Nelson asked Biden about being referred to as the “Big Guy” in the Ukraine FBI informant file, Biden responded with a dismissive laugh and retorted, “Why do you ask such a dumb question?”

According to a report by Fox News, the bribery allegation is documented in an FD-1023 form created by the FBI based on an interview with the confidential human source in June 2020. The source has been deemed highly credible by the FBI.

The source, a businessman, reportedly had multiple interactions with the Burisma executive regarding obtaining U.S. oil rights and establishing connections with a U.S. oil company while Biden was vice president. When questioned about why the executive sought advice when Hunter Biden was on the board, the executive allegedly referred to Hunter Biden as “dumb.”

The source informed the FBI that the executive claimed the company had to pay the Biden family due to an ongoing investigation by Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin. The executive believed that breaking into the U.S. market would be challenging under those circumstances.

According to the source, the executive mentioned a payment of “$5 million for one Biden, $5 million for the other Biden.”

The source also revealed that the executive had “paid” the Bidens through various bank accounts, making it difficult for prosecutors to trace the money for a significant period of time.

In 2016, while Biden was still vice president, he exerted pressure on Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to remove Shokin by threatening to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees.

“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko. “Well, son of a b****, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”
