Biden’s Speech Highlights President’s Memory Lapse on Inauguration and Senate Service

President Joe Biden Delivers⁣ Gaffe-Filled Labor Day Speech

In a‍ Labor Day appearance in Philadelphia,⁤ President Joe Biden delivered ⁣a speech filled with gaffes and inaccuracies. Not only did he give the wrong date for his own inauguration, but he also seemed to forget which state initially ⁣elected him to serve in the U.S. Senate.

“I ⁢wouldn’t have been elected to the United States ⁣Senate in the first place were it not‍ for Philadelphia,” Biden⁢ claimed, adding, ⁣“That’s‍ not a joke.”

However, Biden’s claim ‌is factually incorrect. Despite claiming Scranton as ‌his hometown, he never represented the state of Pennsylvania. He was actually⁣ elected to the U.S. Senate in neighboring Delaware at the age of 29 and has never represented any other state.

Furthermore, Biden thanked the crowd for helping him make it to the White House but mistakenly mentioned the wrong date of his arrival. He stated, “…⁢ since you got me sworn-in in January ⁢of 2020!” However, Biden won the 2020 election, and ‌his inauguration did ‌not take place until January‍ of 2021.

Furthermore, Biden once again made a⁢ false claim that he “cut the deficit $1.7 trillion.” He then⁢ appeared to correct himself ⁢and stated that he had “cut the debt‌ $1.7 trillion.” However, the ⁤national debt has actually increased by just under $2.5 trillion ⁢since⁢ Biden took office. Any decrease in the deficit has been attributed to the end of COVID-relief funds, and the actual deficit reduction‍ under Biden has been much less than predicted by the Congressional Budget Office. CNN fact-checker Daniel ⁤Dale noted that this disparity is a result ⁤of the economic policies ⁢implemented by the Biden administration.
