Biden Spokeswoman Turned MSNBC Host Admits the Jobs Are Basically the Same
Jen Psaki, a former White House press secretary who now works as an MSNBC host, recently stated that she views herself as a journalist and that journalism exists “on a spectrum.”
According to a report by the Hill, Psaki claimed during a media summit hosted by Semafor that journalism entails providing information to the public, clarifying things, and explaining things. She also emphasized that it is highly diverse and varied.
Psaki was previously criticized for holding employment negotiations with MSNBC while still serving as a public official for the Biden administration.
Karine Jean-Pierre, who took over from Jen Psaki as press secretary in May 2022, moved in the opposite direction, leaving MSNBC to become a White House official.
Backlash ensued when a reporter accused Jean-Pierre during a press briefing of dodging questions, to which she replied by stating that this president had answered more shouted questions than any previous president in history. This provoked disagreement among several reporters.
