President Joe Biden was seen wandering off into the Amazon rainforest after making a speech in Manaus, Brazil.

Biden made brief remarks on Sunday about the importance of tackling climate change, and as he left, he was seen disappearing into the forest.

“Did the President of the United States just wander off into the Amazon?” one person asked on social media.

“Someone stop Grandpa he’s wandering off into the jungle,” an X user said.

“And he was never seen again,” another person chimed in on X.

“This guy is lost in the woods, both literally and metaphorically,” an online user said.

Another social media user called him: “Tarzan Biden.”

“Biden just read scripted remarks, answered no questions and then disappeared into the Amazon Rainforest. Wildest press conference I’ve ever seen in my life lmao,” one X user said.

The president, however, was not lost, as social media had speculated.

Many media outlets called the visit “historic” for his presidency because he was the first leader of the U.S. to visit the rainforest and meet with an indigenous group in the region.

Biden toured the Museu da Amazonia with his granddaughter Natalie Biden during their visit to Brazil before heading to Rio de Janeiro for the G20 summit. He ignored questions from reporters about his decision to authorize Ukraine to use powerful long-range American weapons inside Russia.

The president arrived on Monday morning at an event launching the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty in Rio de Janeiro.
