Biden White House Tells Blatant Lie About Vaccines
The White House’s official Twitter account on Thursday told a blatant lie about COVID-19 vaccines.
“When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available,” the account tweeted. By the time Biden took office in January 2021, however, he had already received two doses of Pfizer’s vaccine.
When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available.
In the last 15 months, the economy has created 8.3M jobs and the unemployment rate stands at 3.6% — the fastest decline in unemployment to start a President’s term ever recorded.

The Food and Drug Administration under then-president Donald Trump approved the vaccine’s emergency use authorization in December 2020. Biden that month became one of the first people to receive a dose, and received a second dose before taking office.
Twitter did not mark the White House tweet as misinformation, instead posting “context” under the tweet that includes a link to an ABC 7 piece about Biden’s second shot.
Nina Jankowicz, whom Biden’s Department of Homeland Security recently tapped to oversee a widely criticized “Disinformation Governance Board,” also did not comment on the tweet. Jankowicz, who has called herself the “Mary Poppins of disinformation,” has argued that verified Twitter users, a designation that includes the White House’s account, should be able to edit other users’ tweets.
Biden has blasted social media users who traffic in vaccine misinformation. “They’re killing people,” the president said in July.
