Biden Will Be Without Both ‘Shadow Presidents,’ So Who Is Really Running The Show?
Who is Really Running the White House?
With President Joe Biden’s former Chief of Staff Ron Klain gone and domestic policy advisor Susan Rice soon to depart, the question arises: who will be left to really run the White House?
It’s no secret that Biden isn’t really in charge of the country. This is evident from the fact that the White House constantly walks back his statements and that he uses cheat sheets for press questions. It also doesn’t help that he practically waltzes out each day to read a script that he clearly doesn’t write or understand.
Biden reads from a script when asked about the classified documents found at his personal office:

Biden even lamented that he isn’t as authoritative as he expected the president to be. “I thought when I got to be president, I’d get to give orders,” Biden said. “But, I take more orders than I ever did.”

Even typically establishment Republicans have wondered whether somebody else was pulling the strings in the Oval Office — especially Klain. “We’ve gotten the impression from our members that have been in meetings down there that he’s kind of the guy behind the curtain,” said Senate Republican Whip Senator John Thune (R-SD) of Klain to The Hill in 2021.
When Rice isn’t around to tell Biden what to say, he flounders. As conservative strategist Greg Price put it, “Dude has no idea what his policies even are. He just reads what his handlers put on the teleprompter.”
The president couldn’t even remember he was in Ireland two weeks ago. How is he possibly going to lead the nation without his two shadow presidents?
Maybe they have stepped away because they know Biden won’t be attempting anything radical in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election. It appears that he is slipping into a self-imposed lame-duck presidency, so as to appear moderate in the next general election. Whatever the case, we’ll keep tabs on who might be running the show.
