In recent months, the activities of the IRS have faced increased scrutiny. The service’s plans to hire armed agents in all 50 states to combat tax evasion have drawn attention. Additionally, the organization received a substantial cash injection as part of Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, including a plan to hire 87,000 additional IRS employees over the next decade. These developments have further intensified the focus on gun violence and gun control, which are prominent issues on Biden’s public agenda.
