Biden’s plan: $50T for climate and racial equity.
The Biden Administration’s Climate Change Plan: A $50 Trillion Gamble
The Biden administration claims to be committed to stopping climate change, but at what cost? American taxpayers are expected to shell out $50 trillion over the years to help the government achieve its goal. However, the administration cannot explain how this massive amount of money will help the planet. Instead, they claim it will help the U.S. restore “environmental justice,” which is really code for more “racial equity” efforts.
A Lack of Answers
As reported by The Daily Wire, President Joe Biden’s Deputy Energy Secretary David Turk was unable to explain to Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) how or why the U.S. going carbon-neutral would help the planet stave off global warming. When asked how much the $50 trillion investment would reduce world temperatures, Turk was unable to provide a definitive answer.
While Turk figures out the answer to that question, the rest of the government has been ordered to mobilize into a vehicle to combat so-called “environmental justice.”
The Environmental Justice Executive Order
In late April, Biden signed an executive order to “direct agencies to address gaps in science and data to better understand and prevent the cumulative impacts of pollution on people’s health. It will create a new Office of Environmental Justice in the White House to coordinate all environmental justice efforts across the federal government. And it will require agencies to notify nearby communities in the event of a release of toxic substances from a federal facility.”
The order also recognizes that “racism is a fundamental driver of environmental injustice.” This opens the door for redistribution of tax dollars based on racial identities and other immutable characteristics as part of the solution to end climate change. The tenets of “environmental justice” are not so different from the policies to end “systemic racism.”
A $50 Trillion Gamble
The Biden administration’s climate change fight will certainly be used to grow the government and further entrench the principles of Critical Race Theory in American society. While the administration claims to be committed to stopping climate change, it seems that their efforts are more focused on promoting “racial equity” than actually saving the planet. The $50 trillion investment is a massive gamble, and it remains to be seen whether it will pay off.
