Biden’s ‘Concerns’ Over Kamala Harris’ Weak Abilities Is ‘Factor’ In His Decision To Run For Re-Election
According to one source, President Joe Biden is unsure of his vice president’s ability to defeat a Republican in the 2024 presidential election, which is” a point” in whether he runs for re-election.
The leader is dissatisfied with the way Kamala Harris performs her duties, according to Democratic sources who contacted Reuters News Agency.
Due to a” fear of messing up ,” one former White House official told Reuters,” I don’t think the president sees her as someone who takes something off his tray.”
He now believes that Harris cannot lose as a result. One former White House official told Reuters that Biden is” equally convinced that neither Harris nor any other Democrat candidates would be able to defeat previous President Donald Trump if he is the Democratic nominee.”
” He would not have chosen her if he did not believe she was capable. However, it comes down to consistently rising to the occasion, the previous official said. ” I believe she and the Democratic chair are a factor in his re-election campaign, but I believe it is more about him than about her.”
Biden’s” annoyance” with Harris has been documented by another.
Biden describes Harris as a” work in progress” in his book” The Fight of His Life” by author Chris Whipple, an authority on West Wing staffing.
Whipple claimed that in 2021, Biden complained to a friend about Harris after learning that her father, Douglas Emhoff, was complaining about the things that had been given to her, such as handling the southern boundary of the United States and securing passage of federal voting rights legislation through Congress.
Biden was irritated, Whipple remarked. ” She had begged him for the voting rights task, and he hadn’t asked Harris to do anything besides serve as president president.”
Harris doesn’t appear to be fully aware of her duties. She appeared perplexed when host Stephen Colbert of the” Late Show” asked her directly what she does during a pleasant meeting last year.
” I know you love Veep ,” Harris chuckled.
” I do!” I adore” Veep.” Is it true? Colbert enquired.
Harris continued,” There are parts of it that are actually quite accurate.” Harris then related a tale of one of her staff members who accidentally lit the fireplace without opening the vent to fill her gained work with fumes.
Colbert, however, was genuinely curious. Selina Meyer, the lead character, is frustrated by the sometimes ambiguous responsibilities of the factor, which is one of its themes. Although it is a huge constitutional work, it does not specify what you should be doing. Does that sound real? What exactly do you do on a daily basis, for example? Colbert enquired.
Well, Harris said,” Well, I have the great privilege of serving with Joe Biden, who is the President of the United States and was vice president.
Does he comprehend what sin presidentship entails? Colbert now enquired.
Harris remarked,” He does, he does.” He truly is a true member and is aware of the responsibility. And keep in mind that we arrived at the apex of the crisis. And so much of the work involved, OK, this covers a lot of ground and decide how we can do it together. There is only one person seated behind that Resolute Desk, but he is a remarkable innovator, and I wish more people could see what I see. And the choices that person must make are ones that no one else in the nation is capable of making. And he’s a remarkable president. He is, in fact.
Harris couldn’t get off the wire thanks to Colbert. Colbert responded,” That’s a great response, and, uh, the question was what the vice president does ,” as Harris laughed. ” And I’m assuming that your response is a part of the job.”
According to an average by poll aggregator RealClearPolitics, Harris has a 39 % favorability rating as vice president, which is lower than Biden’s 42.3 %.
With those values, you don’t win the White House. Now perhaps old long Joe is onto something.
