Biden’s dog expelled from White House due to undisclosed staff attacks.
President Biden’s German Shepherd Removed from White House After Multiple Attacks
President Joe Biden’s two-year-old German shepherd, Commander, has been removed from the White House after staff were repeatedly subjected to far more attacks from the animal than the administration has acknowledged.
CNN reported that the U.S. Secret Service has publicly acknowledged that the dog has attacked its agents 11 times, but the true number is higher when “executive residence staff and other White House workers” are counted. Some of the instances have required treatment at hospitals. No exact number of attacks was given.
The animal was reportedly so vicious that staff at the White House warned the Bidens that they could face a lawsuit over the injuries that workers have sustained.
“The President and First Lady care deeply about the safety of those who work at the White House and those who protect them every day,” a Biden official said in a statement. “They remain grateful for the patience and support of the U.S. Secret Service and all involved, as they continue to work through solutions. Commander is not presently on the White House campus while next steps are evaluated.”
Secret Service told CNN that there was not a complete number of known instances where the dog attacked people at the White House where people fear “about workplace safety.”
The report said that there has been tension between the Secret Service and the Biden family after Biden’s older dog, Major, attacked a Secret Service agent, which caused trust issues.
A source close to Biden’s Secret Service detail said that they were “beyond the point of worrying about trust being broken” and that they had to “speak up” about the “hostile” and “dangerous” work environment that they are subjected to because of Biden’s dog.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked multiple times about the matter during Wednesday’s press conference.

Each time she was asked about the dog, her exact response was: “I would refer you to the Secret Service and also the first lady’s office.”
Jonathan Wackrow, a former U.S. Secret Service agent, said that it was a serious situation and that Biden was creating an unsafe environment for people.
“Imagine you’re the owner of a business, a CEO of a company, you bring your dog in, and your dog keeps biting employees. You’re creating an unsafe work environment. And that’s what’s happening now,” said Wackrow. “There’s uniqueness here where it’s the residence of the President of the United States, but it’s also the workplace for hundreds, if not thousands, of people. And you can’t bring a hazard into the workplace, and that’s what is essentially happening with this dog. One time, you can say it’s an accident, but now multiple incidents is a serious issue.”
How does the aggressive behavior of Commander, the German shepherd at the White House, raise questions about the training and socialization of the President’s pets?
Or the incredible work of the U.S. Secret Service, and for all the love and care they provided to Commander during his time at the White House.” The official added that the decision to remove the dog was made after a “biting incident” involving a member of the White House security team.
While it is not uncommon for pets to live in the White House, including dogs owned by previous presidents, the behavior of Commander is certainly an exception. German shepherds are typically known for their loyalty and intelligence, making them popular choices for service and protection roles. However, in Commander’s case, it appears that his aggressive behavior has put both the staff and the reputation of the White House at risk.
The exact reasons behind Commander’s attacks remain unclear, and it is not uncommon for dogs to exhibit aggressive behavior for various reasons, such as fear, protection of territory, or lack of socialization. It is essential, however, for dog owners to take responsibility for their pets’ behavior and take necessary steps to ensure the safety of those around them.
In light of these incidents, it is crucial for the Biden administration to address the issue seriously and take appropriate action. This incident raises questions about the training and socialization Commander received before joining the First Family and being placed in such a high-stress environment. It also brings to the forefront the need for transparency when it comes to disclosing incidents involving the President’s pets.
It is worth noting that the Bidens are not unfamiliar with German shepherds; they had another German shepherd named Champ, who sadly passed away shortly before Commander’s arrival. Champ was known to be well-behaved and a beloved member of the Biden family. The stark contrast between Champ’s temperament and Commander’s behavior serves as a reminder that each dog is an individual and should be assessed and trained accordingly.
The removal of Commander from the White House is a responsible decision, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the staff. However, it is crucial for the administration to learn from this experience and ensure that any future pets brought into the White House receive proper training and behavioral assessments before being introduced to the high-pressure environment.
Ultimately, the well-being and safety of all individuals working in the White House, as well as those who visit, should be of utmost importance. The Biden administration has shown a commitment to addressing the issue promptly and responsibly, and it is hoped that this incident serves as a reminder for all dog owners to prioritize proper training and socialization. By doing so, we can avoid such incidents in the future and create a harmonious coexistence between pets and humans in all environments.
