Biden’s State of the Union: Hinged on Hysterical Nonsense

Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address: A Missed Opportunity

Thursday night marked a crucial moment for Joe Biden as he delivered his⁤ highly anticipated State of the Union address. With the‌ election being closely contested, the stakes were high. The president, who has been trailing in the polls to his arch-nemesis ‍Donald Trump, simply needed to appear alive and‍ normal.

Unfortunately, he only managed to accomplish the former. It’s puzzling to think what his ⁤team was thinking when they wrote his ⁣address. It turned out to be divisive, ‌polarizing, and downright nasty. Did they believe that pumping him up with excessive energy would compensate for his lack of normalcy?

Whatever cocktail they used to awaken him, it was clearly too much.

The address quickly⁢ became a disaster in the making, although Democrats are now pretending to have loved it. But let’s be honest, they were always going to pretend. The media, too, was always going to use words like “feisty,” “energetic,” and “combative” to describe⁣ it. It ⁤was a foregone ⁣conclusion.

But if you were an average voter, someone deciding between Biden and Trump, watching that speech must have raised some ⁣serious doubts. Did it make you think that our country is in the ⁢best hands? Or did it make you think that an angry old ⁤man was screaming at clouds, believing that many Americans are terrible people and having his priorities completely skewed?

There are many independent voters who will look at Biden’s performance and conclude that if the Democrats were‌ trying to present a contrast between “crazy Trump” and “solid, stolid Joe,” they missed the mark politically.

The Lead-Up: Chaos and Incoherence

Even before the ‍address began, a group of pro-Hamas individuals blocked Biden’s motorcade in the middle ⁢of the street. It’s concerning that he has been catering to these people, suggesting⁢ that their passion is the issue rather than their support for a terror group. And on the most-watched night of the presidential year, he allowed his motorcade to be blocked by these⁣ nutjobs who advocate for mass rape and murder.

But that was ‍just the beginning.

Biden’s speech started off ‌angry, energetic, ⁢and coherent. However, it quickly descended into angry incoherence, with moments of loud rambling followed by whispering as his energy waned. It became evident that the ⁤drugs ⁢he had taken were ‍wearing off about 40 minutes into his address.

Typically, a president opens their address with a broad statement like “The state of our union is strong.” They highlight the greatness of America before addressing its challenges. But Biden took a different approach. He began with a harangue against Republicans regarding Ukraine, portraying himself as the epitome of ⁢democracy and labeling his opponents as fascists who side with Putin.

“In January 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt came to this chamber to speak to the nation. ‍He said, ‘I address ⁤you⁣ in a moment, unprecedented in the history of the union.’ Hitler was on the march. War‌ was raging in Europe. President⁢ Roosevelt’s purpose⁣ was to wake up Congress and alert the American people that this was no ordinary moment. Tonight I come to the same chamber⁤ to address the nation. Now it is we ⁢who face an unprecedented moment in the history of the Union. And ⁣yes, my purpose tonight is to wake up this Congress, and alert the American people that this is no ordinary moment either. Not since President Lincoln and the Civil War have freedom and democracy been under assault at home as they are today.”

His excuse ⁤for⁣ his shortcomings as a president was that he is facing the two most historic⁣ crises of the last two centuries: World War II and the Civil War. But let’s be clear, we are not currently experiencing the horrors of⁤ those times. We are not killing each other by the hundreds of thousands or holding people in bondage. We are⁣ not fighting a global war against Nazis and⁢ their allies.

It’s clear ⁢that Biden’s comparison is a desperate attempt to ‌deflect from his own governance. ⁢He claims ⁣there is a war on democracy, but the only reason for that is to attack Donald Trump.

Instead of ⁣addressing pressing issues like the border crisis or inflation, Biden fixated on Ukraine. His intention was to label anyone who disagreed with him as a threat to democracy, equating them with Putin’s ‌actions in Ukraine.

“My message to President Putin is ‌simple. We will not walk away. We will⁢ not bow down. I will not bow down. History is watching, just like history watched three years ago on January 6th. Insurrectionists⁣ stormed this very Capitol and placed a dagger to the throat of American democracy. … But we⁣ must be honest, the threat remains and democracy must be defended. My predecessor and some of ‌you here ‌seek to bury the truth about January 6th. I will not do that. This is a moment to‍ speak the truth and bury the lies. And here’s the simple truth. You can’t love your country only when you⁢ win.”

Comparing January 6th to ‌the Russian invasion of Ukraine is not‌ only insulting to Ukrainians but also a‍ gross exaggeration. January 6th was a small riot, resulting in the tragic death of one person. It was not a dagger at ‌the throat of democracy. Yet Biden needs to blow it out of proportion to fuel his reelection campaign.

His routine of fearmongering and exaggeration is tiresome.

The Hysterical Narrative

Biden’s reelection depends on convincing moderate and independent‍ voters that if Trump returns to power, democracy⁢ will ‍crumble. He‌ wants you to believe that Trump is an autocrat, just like Putin.

But⁣ let’s be clear: no rational person believed that democracy in the United States ‍was about to be overthrown on January 6th. It was an ugly incident, with some individuals committing criminal acts. However, within hours, the situation was ‌under control,‌ and the election was certified by the Republican vice president and majority leader.

Biden’s argument is nothing more than hysterical nonsense. And it’s a shame that he relies on such tactics to maintain his grip ‌on power.
