Bill Ackman warns of ‘false information’ attempting to trick voters before election – Washington Examiner
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman has issued a warning to voters regarding the dangers of misinformation spread online, particularly in light of a recent video shared by Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign. Ackman criticized the edited video that claimed former President Donald Trump was “frozen on stage” during a town hall event, when in fact, the event was paused due to medical emergencies involving audience members. Ackman argued that such manipulative content can mislead the public and suggested that elections should be decided based on facts rather than false information. He also pointed out Harris’s sarcastic comment regarding Trump’s well-being in the context of the video, questioning her character. Ackman previously endorsed Trump, marking a shift from his earlier support of Barack Obama.
Bill Ackman warns of ‘false information’ attempting to trick voters before election
Billionaire Bill Ackman has warned voters to be wary of information shared online with the intent of “manipulating voters,” citing a recent video shared by Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign.
The video, released by the Kamala HQ social media account, claimed that former President Donald Trump was “frozen on stage” as songs played for over 30 minutes during a town hall event that Trump attended, when in reality Trump was listening to the music when the event was paused while two attendees received medical attention. Ackman wrote on X that a work colleague of his showed him the edited video from Kamala HQ and stated his friend had been “manipulated by propaganda” from the Harris campaign.
“The @KamalaHarris team issued an edited video of a @realDonaldTrump town hall in Pennsylvania to create the impression that Trump was having cognitive or other issues,” Ackman’s statement read. “In fact, two members of the audience had medical emergencies so the town hall was paused while care was being delivered.”
This is actually an important story. I bring it to your attention as a work colleague today used this example as evidence that Trump is suffering from mental deterioration. Instead, my colleague had just been manipulated by propaganda from the @KamalaHarris campaign.

Ackman then stated that elections in the United States ought to be decided with facts rather than “manipulating voters with false information.”
The Wall Street billionaire also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’s “snarky” comment when sharing her campaign’s video after the Democratic presidential candidate wrote, “Hope he’s okay,” in reference to Trump. Ackman then questioned what Harris’s comment about the video said about her character.
This is the manipulated video:
Note the snarky ‘Hope he’s okay’ from @KamalaHarris.
What does this say about @KamalaHarris character that she would do and say this? https://t.co/OmfFuErYcb

Ackman, a former ally of former President Barack Obama, endorsed Trump in July, stating that he had made this decision “some time ago.” The billionaire was previously critical of President Joe Biden prior to Biden’s decision to drop his reelection bid.
Fellow billionaire Elon Musk has also endorsed Trump ahead of the election, with the Republican candidate expressing interest in getting Musk’s help to trim bureaucratic agencies. Musk has stressed the need for Trump to win the election several times, going so far as to claim that “this is the last election we’re going to have” if Trump loses.
Polling data released Sunday, a little more than three weeks before the election, placed Trump and Harris in a dead heat at 48%. The data had a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points, with 4% of respondents in the poll being undecided.
