Bloody Alec Baldwin Seen on Set of Embattled “Rust” Film
Alec Baldwin Spotted on “Rust” Set with New Cinematographer
Alec Baldwin was seen on the set of “Rust” in Montana, dressed in his Harland Rust costume and covered in fake blood. Exclusive photos obtained by The Post also show the film’s new cinematographer, Bianca Cline, in action for the first time. Production on the indie-Western was halted in October 2021 after Baldwin accidentally discharged a prop gun, killing the previous cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins. Hutchins’ widower has since joined the film as an executive producer, and production resumed after charges against Baldwin were dropped last week.
Baldwin’s Character Faces the Noose
In one photograph, Baldwin is being hauled toward a noose by two men in cowboy hats and gritty jackets. He puts his head through the rope’s loop while standing on a wooden stage as onlookers watch below. The “Rust” set was moved from New Mexico to Montana following “serious” safety violations, and the production company reportedly paid 0,000 in fines. Only realistic replica weapons will be used on set following Hutchins’ death.
New Cinematographer and Armorer Join the Film
Bianca Cline, the new “Rust” cinematographer, was spotted on set 18 months after the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins. The film’s new armorer, Andrew Wert, has vowed to only use replica guns and ammunition. Production resumed after charges against Baldwin were dropped, but prosecutors warned that charges could be refiled. Baldwin has maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty in court.
What’s Next for “Rust”?
As production picks up, all eyes are on the Yellowstone Film Ranch. Baldwin was photographed holding a rifle backwards during filming, presumably for a scene. Assistant director David Halls was sentenced to six months unsupervised probation after pleading no contest to negligent/unsafe handling of a firearm. The dropped charges against Baldwin do not absolve him of criminal culpability, according to special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis. The follow-up investigation remains active and ongoing.
