MS-13 is a violent, criminal organization that engages in drug smuggling. It originated in Los Angeles, and was created by immigrants from El Salvador. Through an executive order, President Donald Trump classified the gang as a terrorist organization.
Cracking down on these violent gangs, which wreak havoc on American communities through its illicit drug smuggling and brutal murders, has become a top priority of the Trump administration. Through the Enemies v. Aliens Act, the Justice Department has deported more than 250 alleged gang members of Tren de Aragua. This action has been subjected to lawsuits and blocked by a federal judge.
