Border Patrol halts four illegal migrant sex offenders from entering U.S. in single day.
Border Patrol Stops Four Illegal Migrants, Including Sex Offenders, at Southern Border
Border Patrol made a significant bust this week, apprehending four illegal migrants who are sex offenders, some with convictions of crimes against children. The incident occurred at the southern border, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by border authorities.
According to Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens, the arrests took place on Wednesday. In a tweet, he revealed the charges against the sex offenders, which included “sexual abuse of a child,” “rape by force/fear,” “indecency with a child and aggravated sexual assault,” and “indecency with a child, exposes.”

This is not an isolated incident. Last week, Border Patrol encountered three more sex offenders in a single day, along with the discovery of 10 firearms and two armed subjects. These alarming numbers highlight the urgent need for increased border security.
Since assuming the role of Border Patrol Chief last month, Owens has been actively sharing updates on the agency’s operations. He frequently tweets about successful busts, including narcotics seizures, arrests of armed smugglers, and the discovery of smuggled migrants in tractor trailers.
A typical day for USBP agents…
Yesterday, we encountered 10 firearms, 3 sex offenders, 2 armed subjects, & recovered 2 stolen vehicles. On top of our enforcement efforts, we also rescued & reunited a missing elderly citizen w/ her family.

Unfortunately, incidents involving sex offender migrants are not uncommon. In December, Border Patrol arrested three sex offenders who had previously abused children and reentered the country after being deported. One of them had been convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child in Houston, while another had been convicted of indecency with a child involving sexual contact. The third migrant had a conviction for indecent liberties with a child in North Carolina.
The surge in sex offender encounters at the border is part of a larger trend. Under the Biden administration, the number of sex offender arrests has significantly increased. In fiscal year 2019, 58 sex offenders were apprehended, but that number jumped to 156 in 2020 and 488 in 2021.
Representative August Pfluger (R-TX) expressed his concerns about the situation, emphasizing the need for action. He stated, “Border Patrol agents… are doing everything they can to find those sex offenders and those rapists and those murderers and those violent criminals, but they’re being relegated to administrative duties inside some processing center, and they’re not able to actually get out there — not to mention the overwhelming numbers. So it’s just incomprehensible to think this is going on and there’s nothing being done.”
The Biden administration’s handling of the border crisis has faced criticism. In fiscal year 2022, a record 2.4 million illegal migrants were encountered by border authorities. Additionally, the administration has allowed over 541,000 migrants into the country through the parole authority, which bypasses the need for visas.
Furthermore, the end of Title 42, a COVID emergency rule that facilitated quick deportations, has exacerbated the situation. With the expiration of Title 42, frustrated border states have resorted to transporting migrants to northern states, including major cities like New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.
New York City, for instance, has seen an influx of over 90,000 migrants since April of last year. As of now, approximately 55,000 migrants are still being housed in the city, straining homeless shelters and prompting Mayor Eric Adams to voice his concerns about the burden on the city.
The issue of sex offender migrants and the broader border crisis require immediate attention and effective solutions to ensure the safety and security of both border communities and the nation as a whole.
