Boston School Distributes Explicit Survey on Oral Sex, Transgenderism to Middle-Schoolers
A Boston public school caused outrage among parents after it presented pre-teen students with a survey that asked them questions about their sexual history, including whether they had performed oral sex.
The principal of Eliot K-8 Innovation School acknowledged the “many concerns” expressed by parents about the survey in a letter sent on Thursday. Some sixth- and seventh-graders had been given the survey on the previous day.
A copy of the survey revealed that it had asked several questions about the students’ sexual history, including whether they had participated in oral sex. It also asked whether students were transgender and whether they felt different inside as compared to their biological sex.
The issue with regards to the explicit survey comes as schools across America are being scrutinized for questionable classroom content. In 2021, several parents in the Worcester, Massachusetts public school district withdrew their children from sex education classes due to its unsafe content.
The Youth Risk Behavior Survey is being conducted district-wide by the Boston Public Schools system. The principal stated in his letter that Eliot would direct any concerns expressed by parents about the survey’s suitability to the school district.
One mother was outraged by the survey’s content and felt that it was inappropriate for Eliot school children to be exposed to explicit concepts such as oral sex at such an early age. The mother was also concerned over who would have access to the students’ responses and whether the responses were truly anonymous or not.
Other survey questions had asked the students how many sexual partners they had and whether they had ever contemplated suicide or attempted it. The survey also questioned whether students had ever taken diet pills to lose weight.
Another Eliot school parent, who preferred to remain anonymous, informed the Free Beacon that the school district’s decision to ask young children explicit sexual questions had outraged her. She questioned the fact that while parents needed to sign permission slips for their children to go on field trips, the district could ask students such private explicit sexual questions without parental consent.
A staff member for Eliot referred the Free Beacon to Boston Public Schools’ spokesman, who did not comment at press time.
