Brad Slager: Texas A&M University Displays the Destructive Results of Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Programs
One of the greatest ironies about modern college systems is how anti-intellectual they’ve become in the last few decades. University life has been based on a combination of cerebral rigor, open-mindedness and challenging information for a long time. These elements are seen as threats today on many campuses. Even more troubling is the inability for some schools to see the concrete results of failed experiments while applying common sense.
We now arrive in College Station, Texas. Texas A&M University has been heavily involved with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives that have been growing at universities and corporations across the country. These social engineering programs claim to be designed to improve the chances and acceptance of minorities. However, critics maintain that these programs are more like social revenge opportunities and allow activists to take power. The critics are being proven wrong at TAMU.
Think about a social service program intended to assist people being shown to be aggravating the problem. A food bank found to have caused more malnourishment in recipients, or Alcoholics Anonymous lead to more people getting into alcoholism. The program would be called out for suspension.
Professor Scott Yenor, Writing for The Martin CenterThe article reveals how A&M’s years of DEI enforcement have not led to better campus conditions or improved life for students allegedly targeted by the law. Instead, the college sees a lower satisfaction level across all student groups. Yet, despite this obvious failure of the DEI program, the college reviews these results and declares that further DEI enforcement will be necessary.
- “TAMU has sought to build a DEI university since the late 1990s, when former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates was its president. Efforts accelerated with TAMU’s 2010 Report on Diversity, which announced a two-pronged revolution in equity and inclusive climate. Important incentives were put in place for university units and colleges that adopted aggressive equity measures and efforts to measure and improve the campus climate.”
Recommendation
Since the DEI measures were introduced, the college has done studies on students and the results show that the reverse has been true. They have felt less satisfied with their campus experience, instead of improving the atmosphere. All major ethnicities saw a significant decline in their satisfaction with the TAMU experience over five years.
Evidence of the failure to implement DEI

We have seen DEI methods that were intended to decrease the effectiveness of our existing systems. “white privilege” Minorities should have more opportunities. This week was the last. we saw a Florida university A DEI program established a scholarship that was not open to whites. However, these methods have been shown to have the reverse effect.
The chart below shows that there were decreased results across all racial groups. However, whites saw the largest drop while blacks suffered a dramatic drop of almost 30% over the same five-year period. TAMU’s black students felt less inclusive than the rest, despite the fact that inclusion was the main thrust of the DEI program.
DEI’s push to show POC students where they should feel excludedary efforts is likely to be a factor in some of this result. It is possible that students felt excluded by the DEI program. Instead of opening up possibilities, the DEI Program highlighted claims of systemic oppression. This further divided campus and did not foster inclusion.
It is hard to think of any other explanation for the DEI programs that were created to reach POC students and enrich their campus experiences. Instead, they make more feel like they don’t belong. It is obvious that the DEI initiative failed. TAMU does not intend to stop this failure. Rather, these results are seen as a reason to increase the program’s effectiveness.
- “The diversity commissars at TAMU, however, were in no mood to reexamine their priors in the face of these survey results. Instead, they focused on the newly-emerged racial chasm between whites and blacks. TAMU’s 2020 State of Diversity Report recommended a lot more. Seizing on the new chasm, the report announced a frontal assault on the systemically racist TAMU community.”
This is the way race hustlers work. They don’t highlight achievements that can be easily pointed out. Instead, they argue that when they create deeper racial divisions, it is evidence they are needed to continue repairing the damage. They did more harm than good.
This is a grifter’s hustle, offering a solution that solves a problem they have created. This is a disturbing trend that colleges are involved in. The fact that universities claim to be higher learning institutions cannot learn from the simplest level of lessons is a troubling sign of our future. This is the obvious evidence, and these highly-strung thinkers succumb to their emotional reactions.
