Bold impostors target Trump’s Doral Golf Club, escape with valuable loot.

‘Brazen’ Impostors Steal 60‌ Generators from Trump’s Doral Golf Club

Thieves pulled off a‍ daring heist at the Trump National Doral Miami golf ⁢resort, making off with at least 60 generators just weeks before a prestigious Liv Golf tournament is set to take ⁢place, as reported by WPLG-TV in Miami.

The audacious criminals struck the Florida resort‍ twice in one day, first stealing 30 generators in‍ the afternoon and then returning five hours later to snatch another 30, according ⁢to Doral Police Chief Edwin Lopez.

Security footage released by WPLG shows a white F-150 pickup truck in the resort’s maintenance area, its truck bed overflowing with stolen generators.

Authorities believe that four ⁢individuals were involved in the theft.

Despite the presence of onsite security, Chief⁣ Lopez revealed‌ that the area where the generators were stored was vulnerable.

“The incident that occurred in the daylight was an area that was not secured,” he told ‍WPLG. “These individuals posed as construction workers that were able to ⁢enter ⁢and gain access to⁢ the area.”

When the thieves returned later that night, they used a white van and cut through fencing to gain access, according to the police.

Authorities have not yet‌ determined if the criminals had inside help, but they are following several leads in their ⁤pursuit‌ of the robbers.

“We’re working aggressively to find the ‌culprits,” Chief Lopez stated.

The stolen generators were being stored for use in the upcoming⁢ two-day LIV Golf League Team Championship, ‌scheduled ‍to begin on October ⁣20.

According to the police, this crime⁣ bears similarities to other thefts in South Florida.

For instance, in March 2018, two thieves in a white van stole a single high-value generator worth $50,000 from a Miami business, as reported by WPLG.

They ⁢simply hitched it ‌to their van and drove away.

In October 2018, the Miami‌ Herald shared⁣ security footage of two men driving a white F-250 pickup truck, who opened a gate ⁣and made off with a generator near Deerfield Beach in Broward County.

The theft at Trump National Doral is still under⁤ investigation, and anyone‌ with information is urged to contact‍ Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
