Brazilian Authorities Accept Deal From George Santos In Fraud Case: Report
According to reports, Rep. George Santos( R-NY ) and Brazilian prosecutors have reached an agreement to pay back a 2008 victim who was allegedly defrauded.
Because act police was unable to locate Santos, the situation was put on hold in Brazil. Santos, who was 19 years old at the time, allegedly entered a small clothing store and spent$ 700 using an unidentified checkbook that had been stolen. The following year, he allegedly admitted to the fraud on a Portuguese social media website.
In 2010, he and his family reportedly confessed to stealing the cash to commit fraud. The accusation against Santos was accepted the following summer, but he had also left the country and was now residing in the United States.
According to CNN, Santos and the prosecution have” agreed to a deal” in which he will” fully disclose to the crime and spend damages for the victim.”
Santos’ company has been contacted by the prosecution to request assurances that they have the ability to get in touch with the sufferer so that reparation can be made.
The agreement might now change, according to the report.
Santos has also acknowledged that he made false statements about working for commercial behemoths Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, as well as his lack of college education.
