BREAKING: All Flights Across U.S. Grounded As FAA System Fails
All flights across the United States were grounded Wednesday morning as the Federal Aviation Administration’s Notice to Air Missions System (NOTAM) failed.
A NOTAM may state abnormal status of the National Airspace System, including problems such as runway closures or general bird hazard warnings.
“The FAA is working to restore its Notice to Air Missions System,” The FAA tweeted at 6 :29 a.m. EST “We are performing final validation checks and reloading the system now. Operations across the National Airspace System are affected. We will provide frequent updates as we make progress.”

Twenty-eight minutes later the FAA published a written update. “Cleared Update No. 2 for all stakeholders: The FAA is still working to fully restore the Notice to Air Missions system following an outage. While some functions are beginning to come back on line, National Airspace System operations remain limited.”
