BREAKING: Trump Subpoenaed Simply by January 6 Committee
The U.S. Home committee investigating the January 6, 2021 , riot at the U.S. Capitol voted unanimously Thursday afternoon to subpoena previous President Donald Trump .
The lawmakers released the subpoena to query Trump about his alleged function in the activities that led up to a few of the violence that unfolded that afternoon.
“The central reason behind Jan. 6 was one guy, Donald Trump, who numerous others followed,” stated Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), the vice chairwoman of the committee. “President Trump had a premeditated intend to declare that the election had been stolen and fraudulent before Election Time.”
Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) mentioned that the panel got an “obligation” to listen to from the former president.
“It is a relevant issue about accountability to the United states people,” Thompson said. “He should be accountable. He is necessary to answer for his activities.”
