Brody Jenner aims to parent differently from Caitlyn Jenner.
New father Brody Jenner is excited about the journey of parenthood and looks forward to doing things differently than his own father, Caitlyn Jenner, the transgender-identifying reality star.
In a recent video, Brody, 39, opened up about his relationship with his father, expressing that they didn’t have a strong bond and his dad wasn’t present during his upbringing.
“I think that what I’m most excited about is doing things differently than my father did,” Brody admitted.
“Growing up, I didn’t have the greatest relationship with then-Bruce,” the 39-year-old continued. “He wasn’t really around for me growing up. So, I think that just being — just doing the exact opposite, being the absolute best father I can possibly be [is what I want].”
“Hopefully I can just be the absolute best father,” Brody echoed in the video. Brody and his fiancée Tiarah “Tia” Blanco had a baby girl, whom they named Honey Raye, at the end of July.

Jenner, an Olympic gold medalist, made headlines in 2015 when she publicly announced her transition and revealed her new identity as Caitlyn. Brody’s half-sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, have occasionally discussed their father’s journey with the public.
Kendall, for instance, shared in 2015, “My dad is my dad, but he’s not there physically anymore. But she lets me call her dad — that’s the last little piece of dad I’ve got.”
The impact on families left behind by individuals who choose a transgender lifestyle is often overlooked. Recently, Daily Wire host Michael Knowles conducted an interview with Tracy Shannon, a Texas woman known as a “trans widow.”
Shannon shared how her family was torn apart when her husband prioritized his cross-dressing sexual fetish and embraced a transgender lifestyle, leaving behind his family, including their three children.
Shannon revealed that her husband, whom she was married to for 15 years, kept his cross-dressing a secret before their marriage. When she discovered his fetish four years into their union, Shannon expressed her discomfort, but her husband refused to change his behavior.
Most distressingly, Shannon described the negative impact on their children. She recounted their feelings of embarrassment, alleged abuse at their father’s home, and shared that her three children with her ex-husband have experienced six suicide attempts.
“Between the three of them, there have been six suicide attempts of different degrees of seriousness and one hospitalization in a mental health facility for a pretty good period of time, for one,” Shannon told Knowles.
“And I’m being called the bigot, you know, for not wanting to be on board with all this, for not supporting it,” she added. “We used to protect children, we used to protect the family, and honor the truth.”
