Bud Light sales reps lose commission and more.

Bud Light’s Promotion of Gender Identity Advocate Sparks Boycott and Sales Drop

Bud Light, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch, recently chose to promote Dylan Mulvaney, a leading advocate of the gender identity movement. This decision has insulted and offended a significant portion of the company’s customer base, leading to a boycott by conservative Americans.

While it’s typically far-left progressives who pressure companies to bend to their politics, many conservatives have woken up to find their country is not the wonderful place it once was. What was once seen as degenerate and immoral is now considered virtuous, and vice versa. Conservative Americans have had enough, and they have chosen to take a stand by boycotting Bud Light.

As a result, the company’s sales numbers and stock prices have plummeted, and even Bud Light salespeople are feeling the hit to their wallets. According to ABC News, the typical salesperson at Bud Light made as much as $2,000 less in May compared to the previous two years.

“This has really, really killed a lot of the guys who are commission-based. That’s who it’s really hurting,” one supervisor told ABC News. “There’s nothing they could’ve done — this was thrown in their faces.”

While no one wishes ill on the salesmen and women caught in the middle of this mess, a price needs to be paid for what Bud Light has done. Dylan Mulvaney’s activism is at its core very offensive, and Christian-conservative author and commentator Andrew Klavan has perhaps distilled the core point better than anyone else could.

“He is not being a woman. He is doing a woman. Everything about what he is doing is a show and a performance. … It’s as if I smeared my face with blackface … did an ‘Amos and Andy’ cliched, old-fashioned, racist black voice and tried to sell some product … that was for black people.”

The promotion of Mulvaney and the gender identity movement has sparked a boycott and a significant drop in sales for Bud Light. It’s a reminder that companies need to be careful when choosing to promote controversial figures or movements.
