Joy Behar started the conversation by attacking legal gun owners, and anyone who disagreed with her conclusion that guns are the problem.
“The beauty of this story is that the right wing of this country would have us believe that it has nothing to do with the guns and that the solution to these type of shootings is to arm the teachers,” She spoke. “So, now, the teacher has a gun — was she supposed to shoot the kid? What would have happened if she had a gun? Who was she supposed to shoot?”
Behar then resigned, stating that others might argue that the shootings could have been stopped. “good guys with guns,” Noting that there had been police present in Uvalde Who had not been to the school at the time of the shooting.
“This country needs to grow up!” She exclaimed, suggesting that the United States was indeed not “civilized” Because no stronger gun control laws were yet in place.
Sunny Hostin, Sunny Hostin’s cohost, claimed that others at the table had already been there. “skewered” Her assertion that red flag laws are illegal was commendable “not enough” To resolve the problem.
“There’s a red flag law in Virginia,” She highlighted it.
“I support red flag laws,” Alyssa Farah Griffin, Republican cohost, made some observations.
“But they don’t work!” Hostin’s voice rose. “It didn’t work!”
“They’re not being —” Sara Haines intervened as everyone started talking simultaneously. “Excuse me. They’re not being implemented properly —”
“And that’s what I said,” Hostin responded.
“It doesn’t mean you give up —” Haines tried again and repeated the feat. “It doesn’t mean you give up —”
“But they knew!” Goldberg shouted through the crosstalk to try and control the segment.
