By Thanking George Floyd For His ‘Sacrifice,’ Is Nancy Pelosi Valuing Death Over Life?
After it was announced that Derek Chauvin was found guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter by a jury in Minneapolis in the trial following George Floyd’s death, there were widespread acts of celebration on the political Left.
One of the most bizarre and arguably immoral forms of celebration was provided by a masked Nancy Pelosi, who thanked George Floyd for “sacrificing” his life for justice.
“So again, thank you, George Floyd, for sacrificing your life for justice, for being there to call out to your mom,” Pelosi said. “How heartbreaking was that, call out for your mom, I can’t breathe, but because of you and because of thousands, millions of people around the world who came out for justice, your name will always be synonymous with justice.”

Beforehand, Pelosi argued that Floyd’s name was “synonymous with justice and dignity and grace and prayerfulness.”
“So we thank God, we thank Jesus because we were praying to him all along … we thank God, they are people of faith. They conveyed that to me on the phone, but they’ve conveyed it all along,” Pelosi continued.
This argument is utterly devoid of any logic or reason, and is demonstrative of either Pelosi’s ignorance or complete moral depravity.
What is the position she’s taking? That Floyd willingly gave his life? That would seem to contradict the murder charges leveled against Derek Chauvin — murder charges she presumably endorses? Is she saying that Floyd was willingly murdered? Surely not.
Therefore, Pelosi must be arguing that Floyd sacrificed his life in return for something, while arrogantly viewing the involuntary nature of this supposed “sacrifice” as irrelevant.
What makes Pelosi’s statement so completely inane is that the “justice” achieved is directly associated with the determined crime committed against Floyd in the first place. According to Pelosi, Floyd sacrificed himself so that Derek Chauvin could be found guilty of enacting Floyd’s sacrifice.
This bizarre circular logic is both meaningless by any possible metric, and implies that the value of Floyd’s life is outweighed by the political implications of the “justice” his death made possible. In other words, in Pelosi’s eyes, Floyd is effectively worth more dead than alive — an appalling way to view any human being.
Ultimately, there is nothing more valuable than life, and life is obviously more valuable than achieving “justice” solely in the form of punishing the person accused of destroying that life.
Given the choice between dying and having Chauvin in prison, or living and not having Chauvin in jail, it appears that Pelosi is arguing that the former option beats the latter.
An argument which makes no sense whatsoever.
