Byron Donalds bashes Harris campaign rhetoric on Trump: ‘Are you out of your mind?’ – Washington Examiner

In a recent episode of CNBC’s “Squawk‌ Box,” Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her controversial campaign rhetoric regarding her opposition to former President Donald Trump. Donalds⁤ highlighted what he perceives as the excessive and personal ⁣attacks‌ Harris makes, especially ‍considering past threats to Trump’s life. ⁤He emphasized that Harris frequently likens Trump to Adolf Hitler,‌ a comparison⁤ he finds outrageous and inappropriate,⁢ especially given the context of attempts on Trump’s life. Donalds argues that such ⁤rhetoric ‍from Harris and other Democrats‍ is ⁤not only irresponsible but is ⁢also part ⁤of a⁤ broader trend of damaging political discourse. In ⁢response ⁣to claims that⁣ the Trump campaign is more vitriolic, Donalds strongly disagreed, calling into question the standards of comparison being used.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) ranted against Vice President Kamala Harris‘s campaign for continuing to attack her opponent, former President Donald Trump, personally amid “attempts on his life.”

On Monday’s episode of CNBC’s Squawk Box, host Andrew Ross Sorkin suggested there is more vitriol coming from the Trump campaign than the Harris campaign.

“Because what you don’t see, you don’t go to other rallies for Harris, or see in a Harris rally, that kind of vitriol,” Sorkin said.

“You don’t?” Donalds asked incredulously.

“I don’t think you do,” Sorkin reiterated.

“Kamala Harris spends half of her time talking about her rival as Hitler. After he’s been — there have been attempts on his life, not once but twice. She’s doing it right now,” Donalds said. “Every Democrat official at these rallies refers to him as Adolf Hitler. You got Hillary Clinton running around there, hawking her book that nobody wants to buy, frankly, and she’s talking about how this is akin to 1939. Are you out of your mind? You want to talk about rhetoric? Let’s compare.”

Donalds’s comments come over a month since the Department of Justice successfully indicted a suspect, Ryan Routh, who was armed on a golf course where Trump was playing after the first assassination attempt against him. Routh has since pleaded not guilty to all charges, which include possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number and attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate. He is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for these charges.

The first would-be assassin died at the scene when a Secret Service agent who was positioned as a sniper shot him in the seconds after the shooter hit Trump.
