Gov. Gavin Newsom recently commented out on California’s recovery from the coronavirus. This comes as the Democrat faces continued and increasing calls for his removal.
While addressing Californians from an empty Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, Newsom claimed that since the start of the pandemic his administration’s public health orders have saved lives. He added, they were “the right thing to do.”
In an apparent attempt to brush off the mounting recall against him, Newsom briefly apologized for his missteps. “I’ve made mistakes, but we own them, learn from them and never stop trying,” he stated. “After all, that’s the California spirit.”
