California mom shares story of supporting her daughter while school concealed her transgender identity.

California Schools Hiding Students’ Transgender Status from Parents, Says Attorney and Parent Advocate

According to attorney and⁣ parent advocate Erin Friday, California schools are keeping students’ transgender status a secret from parents. In a recent interview on‌ EpochTV’s California Insider, Ms. Friday shared her own experience with this issue.

Ms. Friday recounted ⁤her⁤ daughter’s journey with gender confusion, which began when ‍she was ⁤introduced ⁣to LGBT⁢ gender ideology during a seventh-grade sex⁢ education lesson. “She and all of her friends picked an identity on the LGBT label. None of ⁤them picked ‘straight’ because⁤ that was boring,” Ms. Friday revealed.

The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated her daughter’s struggles, leading her to spend more ⁤time online. “She started to get indoctrinated ‍into⁣ this‌ belief system that all⁢ your stress,‌ all your depression, all your anxiety, will ⁣disappear if you just transition,” Ms. Friday explained.

It wasn’t until ninth grade, during the pandemic, that Ms. Friday discovered her daughter had identified as transgender. ⁣The school had changed her name and pronouns on her email and‌ assignments‌ without involving the parents. “I was angry. How dare they change my daughter’s⁤ name. How dare ⁤they not involve⁢ me,” Ms. Friday expressed her frustration.

Ms. Friday sought help from a therapist out of state to understand her child’s identity struggles. After a little over a year, her daughter stopped⁤ identifying as transgender. “It was so painful to watch⁤ my daughter die by a thousand cuts with everyone cheering her on,” Ms. Friday shared.

This‌ story is not unique, according to Ms. Friday. She believes it is a‌ result of the LGBT community’s push to introduce gender ideology into schools over the past five years. Children are now ⁤being asked about their pronouns and preferred names almost⁣ daily, which Ms. Friday believes ‍contributes to confusion.

When a⁣ child expresses a desire to go by a different name⁤ or gender, schools instruct teachers to keep it a secret from parents, citing California ⁣Education Department guidance. However, Ms. Friday argues that this guidance ⁢is not law. “That’s actually not true, that’s not what the law says, but that’s what teachers are doing ⁢because that’s what they’re told the law says,”⁤ she ⁢stated.
