However, UC has not disclosed the exact number ⁤or current location of the students.

“We can confirm that students on sponsored programs are‍ safe and have departed ‌Israel. It’s our‍ policy, following best practices on travel safety abroad, not to disclose the number of‌ students in a given location or their specific location during emergency or urgent location changes,” said Jennifer Monroe, a ‌spokesperson⁣ for the UC Education Abroad Program.

The ⁣students are now participating in online‌ or hybrid courses in⁢ connection with the Hebrew University⁢ of Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, a Chico State student who was interning in ​Israel has returned to California, and‍ a CSU ‍Northridge ⁣student ⁢who was about to start a program at the University⁤ of ​Haifa did⁤ not depart ‌due to⁢ the country’s unrest.

According to ⁤reports, more⁢ than 1,400 Israelis and at least 8,525 Palestinians have been killed​ in the​ conflict.

The U.S. government’s website warns of possible attacks in Israel and the West Bank​ and Gaza, targeting tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets, shopping ‍malls, and local government facilities.
