California’s AG: The epitome of upward failure.
Commentary
One of the most crucial roles in ensuring public safety in California is held by the state’s attorney general. According to Article 5, Section 13 of the California constitution, this position is responsible for ensuring that the laws of the state are uniformly and effectively enforced.
Being an elected position, attorney general candidates have traditionally shared their perspectives on the current state of public safety, its direction, and the necessary changes. However, it is important to note that the job description does not include the requirement of providing cover for any particular political ideology.
Unfortunately, the current Attorney General, Rob Bonta, was appointed to his position by Governor Gavin Newsom, bypassing the electoral process.
