California’s Female Prisoners Feel Threatened by Transgender Inmates. The State Doesn’t Care.
California prisons have seen female inmates sex assaulted sexually by male inmates who identify themselves as women. State officials have tightened restrictions for biologically female prisoners in response.
California has released 47 transgender male prisoners since 2021 “nonbinary,” Many of them don’t even attempt to make themselves females to be transferred into women’s jails. The state has not yet disclosed the number of male transfers that have targeted female prisoners. The law covers all transgender prison inmates, but only biological males have been granted transfers. None of the 11 women who applied for transfers to male prisons from biological parents has been granted permission by the state. One hundred seven of the 342 males who are applying to be admitted into one of these prisons are men.
