Carlee Russell’s BF Urges Public To Stop ‘Bullying’ Amid Suspicious Claims: ‘Think About Her Mental Health’
The Boyfriend of Carlee Russell Urges Public to Stop Online Bullying Amid Growing Doubts Over Her Kidnapping Story
The boyfriend of Carlee Russell, the 25-year-old nursing student who claims she was kidnapped while checking on a toddler on the side of the road in Alabama, is speaking out against the online bullying she has been facing as doubts surrounding her story continue to grow.
“The only thing I can say is, I want everyone to stop bullying her,” said Thomar Latrell Simmons in an interview with the New York Post. “I know what it seems like what she did. Just stop bullying on social media.”
“Think about her mental health,” he added. “She doesn’t deserve that. She doesn’t. Nobody deserves to be cyberbullied.”
The Hoover Police Department recently revealed that Russell had conducted online searches about Amber alerts and the film “Taken,” which revolves around an abduction, just hours before her alleged kidnapping. She was missing for approximately 48 hours before returning home.
Authorities also discovered that Russell had taken a “dark bathrobe,” a roll of toilet paper, and other items from her workplace prior to her disappearance. Additionally, she had stopped at a Target store to purchase granola bars and snacks after picking up takeout food. When the police arrived at the scene following Russell’s 911 call, the items from her workplace and Target were missing, although her takeout food remained in the vehicle.
The department emphasized that Russell had driven 600 yards on the interstate while supposedly following the toddler she had spotted on the side of the road. However, there is no evidence of a child, and authorities expressed skepticism about the possibility of a toddler traversing such a distance without incident.
Experts Question Russell’s Story
Russell claims that she was taken by a man with orange hair and a bald spot after leaving her vehicle to check on the toddler. She alleges that she was then forced into a vehicle and eventually taken to a home with the man and an unidentified woman, who she never saw. Russell further asserts that she was instructed to undress and believes that the man and woman took photographs of her.
One detail of Russell’s story that has caused significant controversy in Birmingham is the discovery of her wig at the alleged abduction scene. The New York Post interviewed several hair stylists and wig experts in the area, all of whom expressed doubts about her story due to the nature of the wig.
According to the experts, the wig found at the scene was expensive and would have taken approximately 15 minutes to remove since it is glued on.
“That was when the majority of Birmingham was like, ‘She’s lying’,” said hair stylist Kyra Joyner. “That’s when it was split down the middle where there were those that believed her and those that thought she was lying. It was the wig.”
“First of all, your wig is going to be secure,” she added. “Second, if somebody’s taking you, they’re going to try to cause the least attention they can.”
