Casey DeSantis boosts husband’s pro-parent image for 2024 race.
Gov. Ron DeSantis and His Wife Champion Parental Rights for 2024 Presidential Campaign
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and his wife, Casey, are making waves as they gear up to be the 2024 Republican presidential team, with a strong focus on parental rights. As the first Republican National Committee debate approaches, the couple is doubling down on their advocacy for parents who want more say in their children’s education, particularly when it comes to sensitive topics like race, gender, and sexuality.

“I think at the end of the day, she’s just a very genuine person. She really believes in this country. She really cares about the country’s future because our three young kids are 6, 5, and 3,” Ron DeSantis told Fox News’s Ainsley Earhardt about his wife, Casey, who has taken on a more prominent role on the campaign trail. The couple’s three children, Madison, Mason, and Mamie, serve as a driving force behind their dedication to protecting parental rights.
The Florida governor and his wife recently spoke during a joint interview, where they discussed their shared vision for the future.
Casey DeSantis launched her Mamas for DeSantis initiative in Johnston, Iowa, earlier this month, alongside Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-IA). This project aims to rally support for Ron DeSantis among women, including young mothers and cancer survivors. Suburban women, in particular, hold significant influence as a key voting bloc and could play a crucial role in helping Ron DeSantis secure the GOP presidential nomination and defeat President Joe Biden.
During the Iowa event, Casey DeSantis shared her personal journey of battling breast cancer and highlighted her husband’s unwavering support throughout her chemotherapy treatments. Her experience surviving breast cancer has given her the strength to ignore criticisms and instead focus on protecting the innocence of her children and others.
Casey DeSantis’ efforts to unite mothers across the nation are a testament to her unique ability to connect with voters, a skill that Ron DeSantis must harness to secure victory in his presidential campaign. Disaffected suburban women voters played a significant role in the GOP’s losses in the White House, Senate, and House in recent years. Winning back their support is crucial for any Republican nominee aiming to reclaim the White House and the Senate in the upcoming elections.
“When she does things like rally mothers like she did throughout the state of Florida and grandmothers — since it is Florida, we want to include them — and now she’s doing it around the country, it’s because a lot of the issues that these parents are facing, we’re facing,” Ron DeSantis said about his wife during the Fox News interview. “We’re in the same boat. We’re very sympathetic to that. And so, she is somebody that is very, very strong on the rights of parents and the well-being of children.”
As governor, Ron DeSantis has taken concrete steps to address parental concerns. He has signed several pieces of legislation into law, including the Let Kids Be Kids legislation, which expands prohibitions on certain teachings in schools and protects children from sexually explicit performances. Additionally, he has implemented the Sunshine State’s largest tax relief plan, providing significant tax cuts for Florida families. Ron DeSantis’ commitment to parental rights is evident, even in his personal life, as he jokes about his wife teasing him for not providing exemptions for baby and toddler necessities when their children were younger.
Last year, Ron DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education bill into law, further solidifying his dedication to protecting parents’ rights and ensuring children are not exposed to inappropriate content at a young age.
Despite facing criticism from Democrats, including President Biden, and their progressive allies, the couple remains undeterred in their mission.
“We feel that if we can do something to change the trajectory and preserve our American republic, and we can take one for the team by getting hit on behalf of the people of this country, we’re going to do it,” Casey DeSantis said. “We’re going to fight for your family. We’re going to fight for our family, and we’re going to fight for America going forward.”
