Casey DeSantis joins Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds for first solo campaign appearance.
Casey DeSantis to Visit Iowa for “Mamas for DeSantis” Event
Casey DeSantis, the wife of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), is set to make a visit to Iowa next week for an exciting event organized by “Mamas for DeSantis,” a grassroots organization dedicated to supporting the governor’s parental rights agenda.
Joining her in Johnston on Thursday will be Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-IA), making it Casey DeSantis’ first solo event in Iowa.
“The parents’ revolution that started in Florida is coming to every home, school, and community across the country,” a news statement for the event read. “Governor Ron DeSantis is the fighter we need to protect the innocence of our children while defending and protecting the rights of parents.”
Casey DeSantis, who triumphed over breast cancer and received a clean bill of health from doctors in February 2022, has played significant roles in Florida. In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian’s devastation, she spearheaded efforts to establish a state disaster relief fund, which garnered over $60 million in donations.
Casey DeSantis has been a prominent figure on the 2024 campaign trail, often appearing alongside her husband. She has made multiple appearances in Iowa, which holds the first spot on the 2024 primary calendar. Most recently, she attended Sen. Joni Ernst’s (R-IA) Roast and Ride in Des Moines with Ron DeSantis, joining several top 2024 GOP presidential contenders.
“Through the First Lady’s leadership, Mamas for DeSantis will work to support Gov. Ron DeSantis’s re-election campaign as a movement for Florida moms, grandmas, abuelas, nanas, and more to get involved in the re-election campaign,” the governor’s office said when the initiative launched last year to bolster DeSantis’s governor reelection. Mamas for DeSantis will now support his 2024 presidential campaign.

“With the goal of signing up a million mamas across the state of Florida, this initiative will be the largest movement of parents in Florida history,” the 2022 statement read.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., and the event will take place at the Simpson Barn in Johnston.
