CBS News issues correction after claiming children’s book ‘might be banned statewide’ in Florida
CBS Saturday Morning iA claim that was made in an episode previously about a topic we discussed received a corrective on Saturday children’s book Being banned Florida schools.
“We should not have said that the book might be banned statewide,” Saturday’s host Dana Jacobson spoke.

However, the hosts didn’t address the claims that the book had been banned because of its content. “a black character.”
Gov. Bryan Griffin, Ron DeSantis (R.FL)’s press secretary, stated that the correction was not complete.

Michelle Miller’s remarks in last month’s report are the reason for the problem.
“Important footnote to the story: Sulwe has been banned in some Florida schools and might be banned statewide under the Stop Woke Act,” Miller stated this in last month’s report. This comment was made after an interview with Vashti, the illustrator.
“The fact that Sulwe, a character trying to find her identity and be OK with it, would be banned because she’s a black character — she just couldn’t believe it. These are stories for everyone,” Miller did not stop.
Griffin wrote, “America here’s!” @CBSMMiller You lie to yourself @CBS with zero accountability from her co-hosts or the network. No book in Florida is ‘banned statewide,’ and no book would be permissibly removed from a classroom for ‘having a black character.’ They want you to be misinformed.”
